Achieving Your Goals Using Your Imagination
As I’ve stated previously, lack of effort is the main reason why people fail in the online marketing industry (given they’ve received proper training). Once people see what’s actually required of themselves to succeed in this industry, many give up with little effort, or without even trying at all. Setting personal goals can be one huge factor in changing that. You may think this is a ridiculous statement, or a meaningless factor, but it’s not. What better way to motivate yourself to achieve your goals than to envision actually accomplishing these goals and achieving some level of personal fulfillment?
Take a few minutes to write out a list of 30 things you dream of achieving (10 short-term, 10 long-term, and 10 very long-term). Personally, the freedom of working from home, the additional free time, the money (can’t lie), and the ability to help others, are personal factors which motivate me to achieve my goals (all factors in personal happiness). When I first began this business I made such a list… here are a few examples from that list to help give you some ideas:
1) Become a skilled guitar player (time)
2) Buy my dream car (money)
3) Buy a nice condo in my neighbourhood (money)
4) Travel (time, money, and personal freedom to do what I want when I want)
5) Help my family and friends get out of debt (money)
6) Quit the job that I hate (happiness) Read more…

One of the secrets to shortcut your way to Internet marketing success is to land a few successful joint ventures, particularly if the JV’s are with marketers who are currently more successful than yourself. Why are JV’s so important? In a nutshell, they allow you to gain leverage by using the resources of others, something that you don’t have if you go it alone.
Although there are many definitions of a joint venture, I like to go with the broadest one. Whenever you use the resources of another marketer for mutual benefit (to increase your marketing reach, to create a product together etc, you have a JV). So even if you merely get another marketer to promote your product for you, and you promote his product as well, that’s a JV in my book.
The reason why JV’s work so well is because you get to leverage the time, resources and skill sets of other marketers for mutual gain. If you don’t have time to create a product, you can always set up something with a marketer who does, and he can create the product while you market it later. If someone else has a big list and you have a high-converting product, you can set up something mutually beneficial to help each other make more money.
Of course, getting lucrative joint ventures is not a piece of cake. Far too many people go about it like amateurs. They contact other marketers and only talk about themselves and their products. That’s the wrong way to do it! Always talk about what you can do for the other marketer first and you are far more likely to get a more positive response. Read more…

This is another one of those articles that is long overdue. The hypocrisy of marketers. It runs rampant in the Internet marketing community and it’s starting to make me sick. We condemn others for doing things that some would say are less than righteous and then we turn around and do the same things or some that are even worse. The stone throwing in this industry is incredible. Let me give you a specific example.
I recently wrote an article on article writing itself about being parrots, reporters and creators. The article was totally in my own words, though the concepts were certainly not original. There is very little in this world that is original. As marketers, we are well aware of this. I mean let’s be honest, how many ways are there to tell somebody what Bum Marketing is? And yet, merely for writing an article on the above concepts, I was called many names that I dare not print here. For more details www.achieving-liftoffs.com.If you read the article and compare it to anything else written on the subject, you will see, beyond any doubt, that the concepts, while not created by myself, were expressed in my own words and in my own style. This is in essence, being a fair if not great reporter. Parroting a bit? Maybe. But certainly not outright theft. Otherwise we’d all be forced to write about our experiences in the bathroom because anything else would be off limits. And then how unique are bowel movements? Read more…
